The Little Red Hen to bring festive cheer to all this Christmas

The first to be Associate Artists at The Berry Theatre, Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company present a wonderful festive treat – perfect fun for all ages – this December.

Returning to the venue for the fourth time this year following runs of sold-out shows, performed to audience acclaim, the company presents The Little Red Hen Monday 12th to Saturday 24th December.

Updated from the classic family favourite, this is The Little Red Hen for a modern age. Expect chainsaw wielding chickens, animals with iPods and one or two lazy puppets. With beautiful set-design and a generous sprinkling of the eccentric mischief Stuff and Nonsense are so known for, this is brilliant festive entertainment for the whole family.

With no scary bits whatsoever the very young will adore this production while older children and their grown-ups enjoy the wonderful wit and brilliant storytelling on display. Stuff and Nonsense are experts in creating enigmatic family theatre that speaks to all ages, The Little Red Hen promises to deliver much the same.

“I wish I was five again. Then I could let out unselfconscious whoops of hilarity and yelps of excitement. As it is, watching this delightful piece of theatre unfold, is almost enough to liberate adult inhibitions….The production is self-assured enough to set the scene slowly before picking up speed, and in so doing, forges a warm bond with the young audience…A truly enchanting hour for children - and their parents”

- Roger Malone, The Stage

In this ingenious reimagining you can expect a whole host of fascinating animal puppets, sing-along songs and fantastically ludicrous comic routines – it’s a real Christmas reat for the whole family!
