The Berry Theatre announces summer season

The Berry Theatre has a fun-filled summer season featuring interactive events for families and stand-up comedy for older audiences.

This season the venue has a great selection of affordable events for children and their families to enjoy. Family favourite Saturday Storytime returns on 5th and 26th May for two interactive storytelling sessions for young people aged 3-7 years old. Magical characters guide you in an interactive play time that is packed full of adventure.

On Thursday 31st May Howard Read presents Little Howard and the Magic Pencil of Life and Death. An animated adventure suitable for everyone aged 5 and up, this witty 3D theatre show features interactive stand-up and sing-along-songs.

The Berry Theatre presents Two Day Play on Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th May; an opportunity for young people aged 7-18 years old to create a piece of theatre based around Dr Seuss’ Oh The Places You’ll Go and present it to family and friends. The two-day event will spark the imagination, build confidence and inspire the young people involved. Tickets to take part are £75.

On Friday 1st June Get Lost and Found presents Mischief and Mystery in Moominvalley. A fantastic introduction to theatre for young people aged 4-7 years old, the show features magical puppetry, original music and interactive play that will delight young audiences.

On select family theatre shows The Berry Theatre offers families of four and five a special ticket offer of £24 or £28.

The venue has a stellar comedy programme this season featuring emerging talent and seasoned pros. Flanders & Swann presents At the Drop of a Hippopotamus on Thursday 7th June followed by an unmissable double-bill on Friday 27th July with Alice Marshall & Edd Hedges.

On Thursday 10th May National Theatre Live presents Macbeth. Rory Kinnear (Skyfall) stars alongside Anne-Marie Duff (Suffragette) in this contemporary reimagining of Shakespeare’s infamous tragedy, broadcasting live to the venue this summer.
