The Berry Youth Theatre
Weekly workshops take place at the theatre with professional directors and theatre practitioners. We place a great emphasis on the importance of the ensemble and aim to develop a diverse range of drama skills whilst encouraging self-expression, teamwork and confidence.
All members of our Youth Theatre are given performance opportunities throughout the year. As well as our spring production we like to end each term with a sharing of devised work and members will be first to know of other opportunities that arise at The Berry Theatre and our sister venue The Point, in Eastleigh.
When you join our Youth Theatre your involvement goes far beyond the weekly workshop sessions as we invest in all areas of your arts participation. You will:
Receive regular offers at The Point and The Berry Theatre and the chance to join your friends on trips to see shows.
Have the opportunity to complete a bronze or silver Arts Award
Receive support, mentoring and career advice as well as consideration for work experience placements at the theatre.

As part of Eastleigh Borough Council’s ongoing commitment to creating healthy communities, we are pleased to provide high quality and exciting participation opportunities for our residents aged between 5-21 years of age.
We are able to offer a limited number of bursaries on a means tested basis to help cover the cost of activity fees for those in most financial need. These activities currently include our Youth Theatres at both venues and companies at The Point
How to apply for a bursary with us
Those applying for a Bursary place should complete and submit an application form at least two weeks prior to the start of the activity that they wish to take part in. Unfortunately any applications submitted after this period will not be able to be considered until the following term.
