A Berry Relaxed Performance this Christmas

This Christmas The Berry Theatre in Hedge End will be hosting a relaxed snuggle performance of STICK MAN from the book by Julia Donaldson.

The early evening performance on Thursday 19th December at 5.30pm will be adapted to create a warm welcome to people who might normally find it difficult attending the theatre. This can include: people with learning disabilities, movement disorders, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, other sensory, communication or neurological conditions, or those with young children or babies.

Additional staff will be on hand to help audiences with seating and access around the theatre, the lighting will be a little higher during the performance and there won’t be any blackouts or strobe lighting. The venue’s staff and the actors will have a relaxed attitude to noise from audience members (both voluntary and involuntary) and audience members can leave the auditorium at any point with staff to help them leave safely. There will also be additional wheelchair spaces and the theatre is offering free companion tickets to ensure that audiences feel supported and have the richest theatre experience possible.

The show will also be a snuggle show, with an after-school start time, why not come in your pyjamas or onesie ready for bed straight from the show? Well-behaved Teddy Bears welcome!

Stick Man is leaving his family tree and heading back out on tour this Autumn! Based on the book by Julia Donaldson with illustrations by Axel Scheffler, Stick Man will play at The Berry Theatre from Friday 13th to Tuesday 31st December 2019.

'Stick Man lives in the family tree
With his Stick Lady Love
and their stick children three...’

But what starts off as a morning jog becomes quite the misadventure for Stick Man: a dog wants to play fetch with him, a swan builds a nest with him, and he even ends up on a fire! How will Stick Man ever get back to the family tree? Packed full of puppetry, live music and funky moves, Stick Man is a touching, funny and utterly original adaptation that will delight all ages.

Tickets are £14 or £12 concessions and are available now or by calling the Box Office on 023 8065 2333.
