Drama Education Officer (permanent)
Full time 37 hours per week
Salary £23,361 per annum
We are seeking an arts professional to work in the Service Delivery Directorate within the Visitor Business and Economy Unit to oversee the delivery of a programme of drama programmes and projects in community and education settings across the borough increasing community involvement and participation.

The Point, Eastleigh is one of the south east’s liveliest performing arts venues and one of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio Organisations with a full professional programme of dance, theatre, film and community performances. The Berry Theatre in Hedge End is a state of the art theatre in the south of the borough with a focus on new writing and theatre for families.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work as a Drama Education Officer within the busy drama development department.

The role will lead on engagement with centres of learning and the community, and manage a programme of education outreach initiatives and to deliver the priorities of the Council’s arts strategy. You will be working with the Creative Programme Producer (theatre) to develop a complimentary programme of outreach work linked to the professional programme and build sustainable and lasting partnerships with educational organisations. You will also support the development of both The Point and Berry Youth Theatres.

Drama Development Intern (temporary for up to 12 months)
Full time 37 hours per week
Salary £16,303 per year

We are seeking an enthusiastic arts graduate to work in the Service Delivery Directorate within the Visitor Business and Economy Unit to support the delivery of a programme of drama programmes and projects in community and education settings across the Borough increasing community involvement and participation.

The Point, Eastleigh is one of the South East’s liveliest performing arts venues and one of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio Organisations with a full professional programme of dance, theatre, film and community performances. The Berry Theatre in Hedge End is a state of the art theatre in the south of the Borough with a focus on new writing and theatre for families.

We are looking for an enthusiastic graduate to work as a Drama Development Intern within the busy drama development department.

The role will provide support for the department, including administrating and co-ordinating workshops and community projects. The Drama Intern will also assist and run workshops with The Point and Berry youth theatres, attending rehearsals and performances, and carrying out all administration for the companies, as well as developing work with the youth theatres' younger members.

This placement provides a unique opportunity for a keen individual to gain invaluable and varied experience of working in a professional theatre venue as part of a busy, dynamic team. As part of the role you will benefit from a number of training opportunities, networking events and professional development.

The successful applicant will be able to show initiative and understand drama in a community and education context. Strong administrative, communication and IT skills are important and a real passion for the arts is essential.

Theatre Technician (temporary for up to 6 months)
Full time 37 hours per week
Salary within the range £18,435 - £21,470 a year, pro-rata

Working with professional companies, hirers and resident artists this post is responsible for all technical support within The Point, Eastleigh and our sister venue, The Berry Theatre, at Hedge End.

We are currently seeking a dedicated technician to join our team working closely with the technicians at our sister venue The Berry Theatre. You will get the opportunity to work on a variety of events with a range of technical equipment.

This is a great opportunity to increase your skills and gain further experience in the technical field.

You must have technical knowledge and experience, ideally within theatre.
