We welcome volunteers aged over 16 years to join our Front of House Team.
Volunteering as an usher is a great way to gain valuable experience working in a theatre.
Help our audience feel welcome and ensure they leave with a smile on their face.
You don’t have to commit to a lot of time (unless you want to!) and we’d love to have you on board.

Responsibilities
- Welcoming audiences into the theatre, and creating
a friendly atmosphere - Directing audiences around our venues
- Check audience’s tickets and show them to seat's
- Helping to grow our donations
- Helping Front of House to evacuate audience in case
of fire - Selling merchandise or ice creams
- Sharing what the theatres do
- Exit Flyering
- Cleaning up rubbish from the auditorium
It can be quite an active role, but also times where you will be sitting down for periods of time

Nikki Fisher, the theatre's volunteer Co-Ordinator will be in touch once you have submitted your application form for an informal chat.
During this you will get a tour of the building and talk about the shows you wish to sign up for. We do have ushers with health conditions and who are neurodivergent. So during the chat, we will also discuss how best to accommodate you so that you can
enjoy the role in the best way we can.
The Council’s staff team invite residents in the Borough to connect, learn and make a difference. They have brought together and are expanding volunteering opportunities managed by Council teams, making it easier to find and take part in regular, flexible and ad hoc activities.
