As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, we need your help to share the gift of theatre with children and families in the local community.
We are asking audiences to help us Play It Forward by donating the price of a children's or a family ticket. In order to support those who really need it, we are partnering with the Rainbow Trust, a charity which supports families who have a child aged 0-18 years with a life-threatening or terminal illness.
Your contribution will offer some much-needed respite for siblings and families via an invite to The Berry Theatre in Hedge End to see Zoo Co's Messy or to The Point Eastleigh to see Half Moon's Party.
Creative Director of The Point Eastleigh and The Berry Theatre Charlotte Hall said: “We believe in the power of theatre to brighten the lives of children, improve their wellbeing and, most importantly, to bring smiles to faces and laughs to bellies.
“This year more than ever, children need the opportunity to be carried away by stories and find the joy in sharing live experiences. If you can help, please donate by Sunday 13 February and we’ll do the rest!”
Liz Callaway, Family Support Worker at Rainbow Trust says: “Due to the emotional, financial and physically demanding pressures of having a seriously ill child this is a very intense and challenging time for the family. The opportunity to invite some of our Rainbow Trust families to escape to the theatre this spring will make a huge positive impact to their journey and allow them to have that well needed time together.”
How to make a donation
- A donation of £7 will pay for a ticket for a child
- £16 will pay for a ticket for a child and an accompanying adult
- £32 will pay for a family of four.
